This day there arrived at my door a cardboard box full of printed copies of my novel Harald. Amazon still lists it as not yet available, so I don't know how soon other people will be able to get it.
It's beautiful.I now return you to your (ir)regularly scheduled programming.

How would you respond to the charge that science fiction and/or fantasy isn't "serious" literature? As the saying among the literary elite goes, "There's no genre in literature and no literature in genre".
How did the map turn out?
Chris Porter asks how the map that Chris drew for the book turned out. The publisher used the greyscale version and it looks very nice indeed--although not as nice as the gorgeous color version which I have webbed at:

Anonymous asks about my response to people charging that genre literature isn't literature. My answer, of course, is that it's a silly charge. Some books in some genres are serious literature—Dorothy Sayers' mysteries and Tolkien's fantasy are obvious examples—and some are not. Whether Harald is or is not a good book depends on what is between the covers, not on where it is shelved in the bookstore.
I am relieved to know it looks good. I was really interested in the print quality--I've been in printing part of publishing for years, and having seen enough good ideas but bad execution, worry about other people's part in the process of getting the idea from concept to public. I wish you the best.
Congratulations --- it's a book!
You must be very proud. I'm looking forward to reading my own copy.
