If the head of the CIA can't keep his extramarital affairs secret, he should hold some other job.dWjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12072494989829344049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19727420.post-47936730033312260442012-11-13T16:58:12.106-08:002012-11-13T16:58:12.106-08:00Always fun to speculate about 'hard strategy&#...Always fun to speculate about 'hard strategy'.

In fact, it really does appear that soft strategy - appeal to voters, get out the vote, generally be competent - won against hard-ish measures, cf. Husted in Ohio, or for that matter(need I say it?) Florida.

In any case, whether you want to imagine a conspiracy that paid partisans haven't even come up with (and I'd love to see the mechanics of how that worked - the consultants who were responsible for Orca are in the public record, please spell out the details, and subscribe me to your newslettter), or if it turns out that Obama actually won fair and square, you should be happy. Either modern statecraft intrigue of Dune-style fantasy selects the best man, or democracy is doomed, anaconda dumb people voting themselves into extinction, Just You Wait.

I look forward to the analysis theorizing (just a theory, of course) that Rove threw this one on purpose because -- oil! (Check production stats - it makes as much sense as this.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19727420.post-36063621152154175912012-11-13T15:12:10.348-08:002012-11-13T15:12:10.348-08:00Interesting idea about possible sabotage of Romney...Interesting idea about possible sabotage of Romney's campaign. I've been wondering the same sort of thing about at least one supposed Ron Paul devotee.

After Paul lost the nomination a number of Paulians started calling for a write- in campaign. Myself (not part of the Paul campaign) and I'm sure dozens others had to advise them time and time again that a write- in campaign is a waste of time unless Paul was registered as a write- in candidate with each state. Otherwise, his votes won't even be counted.

No matter how hard we tried, the write- in campaign folks kept popping up. Come Election Day, no less, we found a post on ronpaul.com saying the write- in campaign was going strong. Since then, there's been a post by some guy saying they had enough write- in votes to win certain states, or some such.

I couldn't help but wonder if he was some Obama, or even Romney, operative trying to get people to waste their time with write- ins rather than vote for Gary Johnson or Romney?

Either that or the guy(s) were just idiots.Fred Mangelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15746646487480850444noreply@blogger.com
