Good interview. Great book. I found it so interesting I downloaded a couple of other episodes. I started to get a sense that the show is interested in a kind of pattern seeking, finding evidence of predictions of the future within culture, although with a reasonable degree of scepticism.
It struck me that there were earnest and smart people delving intelligently into a view of the world based on a false premise. If their premise had been the right kind of flawed premise -- say, post-modernism -- then they could have found themselves nicely placed in academia.
