Anyone in Europe Want a Talk?

It looks as though I'm going to be visiting Spain sometime early next year. Given how long the trip is, I would like to combine that visit with something else, and one obvious possibility is giving a talk or talks somewhere else in that part of the world--which, seen from California, covers most of Europe.

It occurred to me that a blog post might be one way of seeing if anyone was interested. Some of my talks can be found online.

On your way to or from Europe, will you be spending any time on the East Coast of the United States? My local chapter of the Bastiat Society is looking for speakers.

If you're interested in a visit to London, perhaps it might be worth speaking as part of an event with the Adam Smith Institute, or the Institute of Economic Affairs? British libertarians have different immediate concerns from our American counterparts, so a talk about legal theory for instance (since we don't have a proper constitution) would be very interesting.

David can I second the previous comment? We'd be delighted to host an event for you at the IEA and if you like we could arrange others at different places. If you're interested contact me at the IEA sdavies@iea.org.uk. Steve Davies

Damn Europeans have all the luck. Would've loved it, if you came to New Zealand.

I live in Córdoba, Spain in the southern region of Andalucía. Where exactly will you be?

I did come to New Zealand, some years back, and gave a number of talks there. A pleasant visit and an interesting country.

I've already emailed people at IEA and the Adam Smith Institute, but the email addresses were from past correspondence and may no longer be good.

I think the event planned for me in Spain is in Madrid, but I'm not sure--details are not yet definite.

And I don't know whether a stop on the east coast will be workable or not--where is your local chapter of the Bastiat Societ?

I live in northern Italy (Trento)... will check if something could be arranged here... otherwise, I'll come to your other European talks (Madrid, London :-)

It's the Delaware chapter of the Bastiat society.

The meetings usually take place at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) in Wilmington, DE, which is about 45 minutes south of Philadelphia, PA.

In case you are interested, many of our speakers also give a separate talk for the ISI.

If you give a talk in Florence, I would gladly attend. Florence has a large student population and a lot of study abroad programs. They welcome a wide range of speakers.
